Further, if any NEFA valve submitted for warranty is found to contain a material defect which arose in the course of manufacture or does not satisfy the relevant Australian Standards and/or New Zealand Standards product requirements upon testing, the claimant (licensed plumber) will be reimbursed $50. See Note 1

If the valve does not meet the requirements of the product standard, the claimant (licensed plumber) will be reimbursed to a maximum of $50 (incl. GST).

Note 2. The date of manufacture is marked on the valve, represented by a five digit number. The first two digits of the date of manufacture refer to the last two digits of the year of manufacture. Where Methven tapware and showers are purchased for use in commercial installations, Methven undertakes to either repair or replace (at its option) the tapware or shower within 12 months from purchase, if it is discovered that such tapware or shower contains a material defect, which arose in the course of manufacture, subject to the conditions set out below.

Warranty Conditions

Methven's shower and tapware warranties, for both domestic and commercial installations, are each subject to the following conditions, and accordingly shall not apply if:
1. Proof of purchase details (such as invoice or receipt) cannot be provided.
2. There is a failure by any person to follow Methven’s installation instructions, tapware installation is performed by a non-registered plumber or the shower or tapware is used other than in accordance with Methven specifications.
3. Evidence cannot be produced which confirms that the relevant shower or tapware was purchased from a Methven authorised distributor.
4. Repair work is performed on the relevant shower or tapware by a person other than Methven, its authorized service agents or any plumber who has not received authorisation prior to proceeding with the work.
5. Applicable statutes or regulations relating to public health are not observed.
6. Standards or regulations governing sewerage, plumbing, water supply and gas applicable to the location of the particular plumbing installation are not observed.
7. Harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners are used on any product finishes.

Note:
Shower hose recommendations:
• The correct choice of hose to suit the hand shower is important. E.g. A massage or restricted flow water saving hand shower requires a PVC Mains Pressure Spiral hose, PVC High Pressure hose or a Double Wound Metal hose
• Hoses must be attached to a flow switch or elbow at the wall to avoid damage
• When water pressure is in excess of 500 kPa, a pressure limiting device is required in accordance with AS/NZS 3500 recommendation otherwise the hose warranty will be voided

Warranty Obligations

Methven’s obligations under the above warranties are limited to the replacement of defective parts only. Liability in relation to any damage and/or labour charges incurred in installation, repair or replacement will only be accepted by Methven in writing.

The above undertaking from Methven will apply to any purchaser or end user of Methven showers and tapware who is a "consumer" under any relevant consumer protection legislation to the extent such undertaking is in addition to any other right or remedy which that person may have under that legislation.

Where showers and tapware are acquired for the purpose of a business, to the extent permitted by law any terms implied by any relevant consumer protection legislation shall have no force and effect between Methven and the purchaser or end user.

Methven shall in no way be liable to the purchaser or end user of any shower or tapware for any loss, damage (direct, indirect or consequential), cost or expense suffered or incurred by that person (including, without limitation, any damage and/or labour charges incurred in installation, repair or replacement), otherwise than as provided in the above provisions, under any relevant consumer protection legislation or as consented to by Methven in writing in advance.
